Hoga Zait in Roana from 10 to 19 July 2026.

From July 10 to 19, 2026, the Municipality of Roana is hosting the 21st edition of Hoga Zait, the traditional Cimbrian festival held throughout the Roana area. The festival promotes and promotes the Cimbrian language of the Seven Municipalities with guided tours and themed workshops, concerts, theatrical performances, cultural evenings, and much more!

What does Hoga Zait mean?

Literally, Hoga Zait means “high time,” “beautiful time,” and therefore, a time of celebration. Hoga Zait is the Cimbrian festival. Let’s celebrate!

50th anniversary of the Roana-Velden twinning

2026 marks 50 years of twinning between Roana and Velden, Bavaria: a bond born from shared linguistic and cultural roots, which over time has grown into friendship, dialogue, and collaboration. This anniversary also provides an opportunity to renew ties with the sister Cimbrian communities of Luserna and Lessinia Veronese, united by a shared history and a vibrant culture.
Hoga Zait 2026 will therefore be a moment of celebration and encounter, to celebrate the past but above all to look to the future, giving new voice to the language, traditions, and bonds that unite the Cimbrian communities.
